Leadership Training Website
Project Details
For: AT&T Consumer Centers Leadership
Date: 2022
Solutions: Redesigned Website to Address Complex UX Needs
Demonstrated Skills: UX Design, Project Management, Javascript/HTML/CSS
THE CHALLENGE
Participants of Consumer Centers Leadership (CCL)Training did not have access to supporting job aids and documentation post-training.
The former site for job aids, Leadership Academy (LA), is not maintained and had outdated information.
The content on the Leadership Academy site was still relevant and needed to be migrated/updated into a new location.
New-to-Title leadership had no central location for identifying 30/60/90-day learning plans.
The existing CCL Training site was only instructor-facing with full access to virtual leader-led curricula. This curriculum should not be easily accessible to learners without registration through the learning management system.
The new solution must be internal and strategic partner-facing with a secondary filter of learner and instructor-facing.
Instructors access content via laptops.
Leaders access content via tablets or laptops.
A team of rotating 5 designers worked on this project with other conflicting, high-priority project responsibilities.
THE SOLUTION
Redesign the CCL Training site to be learner and instructor facing.
Customizing the CSS for password-protected pages to ensure only instructors have access to the curricula.
Custom JavaScript was written for Learning Plans for Leaders dynamic pages creating a simple user experience. Leaders select their job title and only the correlating training courses populate.
Custom JavaScript was written for the new resource library (Leadership Library) built within the CCL training site.
LA site job aids and documentation were updated and migrated into the new Leadership Library.
Entire site is screen responsive. Leadership Library is only accessible on tablet and desktop.
Site was wire-framed and design principles outlined before tasks were delegated to various designers to ensure consistent design across the site.
Utilized Azure DevOps to break tasks down into user stories and work items. Tasks were created for new content. Bugs were created for maintenance tasks on existing content.
Azure Dashboards were customized for use in weekly design sync meetings. Tags were used to accurately track progress and scope.
THE RESULTS
Instructor and learner facing Consumer Center Leadership Site with internal and strategic partner pages.
Positive feedback from the field regarding the ease of use and the centralized location of all necessary content.
Launched on deadline across all consumer centers (call centers) for use by leadership.
WHAT THE FINAL PRODUCT LOOKS LIKE
The home screen prompts visitors to identify themselves as an internal or strategic partner audience. However, the Leadership Library is available to all visitors.
When a user select "Internal" or "Strategic Partner," the main image on the homepage disappears and these cards appear.
Because the Leadership Library is designed for desktop and tablets only, access to the Leadership Library from the homepage is removed.
Because the site is now accessible by learners, custom CSS was written to ensure branded design of the default, gray password-protected pages.
Users were able to filter through the available programs by selecting the radio buttons at the top of this page.
Users were able to display custom learning plans based on the selected job titles.
The Leadership Library was created as a sub-portal within the site to host all post-training resources.
A dynamic iFrame was programmed into the Leadership Library that populated triggered links. Links are triggered when a user selects a topic in the menu. This iFrame is also content-responsive ensuring that the user only sees one scroll bar.
The entire project was planned in Azure DevOps with this customized dashboard. All design team meetings were facilitated using this dashboard to ensure we were on track.
